What We Do

The I Am Magic Foundation, Inc.  is the non-profit arm of our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)  work at Black Forest Farm, LLC.  This emerging field uses horses in experiential learning situations and metaphors of the experience to teach and heal.  EAL is very effective in developing confidence, assertiveness, self-esteem, reducing stress and increasing personal empowerment.  Horses are excellent sources of teaching improved leadership, communication and relationship skills. There are many special needs groups, youths facing behavioral and emotional challenges as well as youth leadership organizations who would find exceptional benefits from participation in EAL, however these groups are often have the least accessibility.  The I Am Magic Foundation, Inc. seeks to serve especially these groups who can benefit the most through the human/animal connection and EAL.

Our Beginning

The I Am Magic Foundation, Inc. was formed December 22, 2009.  That day has special significance as it is the beginning of the winter solstice, a date that symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. The winter solstice is the shortest or the darkest day of the year just before a time of renewal, rebirth and light. Often in our times of trouble, people offer encouragement and hope with a reminder that it is often darkest before the dawn.  Of course, this  time is also centered in a holiday season that celebrates the birth of Christ, the end of another year and the chance to begin again in a new year. It seemed only fitting that our beginning be chosen at a time of such powerful symbolism.  

While we are pursuing our  full non-profit status, which takes some time, Madison Mutts a 501(3)(c) has generously agreed to be our fiscal sponsor.  That means all donations are tax deductible.  They are made out to the I Am Magic Foundation, Inc. however your receipt for tax purposes will be from Madison Mutts.
